Longhorns sweep Kennett during Winter Sports Senior Night

t was an evening of overwhelming emotions during “Winter Sports Senior Night” at Unionville High School. Senior student athletes said tearful goodbyes to their coaches, while at the same time embracing the excitement of their future commitments to their prospective colleges. UHS proudly celebrated the Boys Basketball team, Girls Basketball team, Cheerleading, and Dance teams.
The Unionville Boys varsity basketball team led the victory against Kennett with the score of 59-44. The Unionville Girls varsity basketball team also won against Kennett with the score of 47-39. Both of the basketball teams led their team with Unionville pride to make this night special.
Cheering parents and students applauded when the seniors walked in. As you can imagine, memories of the past four years came to light. Christopher Ash, a senior on the Boys Basketball team, said, “The overwhelming amount of joy was indescribable from the number of people that have supported me throughout my basketball career.”
Captain and a senior on the Girls Basketball team, Riley Angstadt said, “ We will never forget the bonds we have made. UHS has brought us special memories and most importantly, life-learning experiences that will help us throughout our lives.”
Graduating Senior Megan Clark shared her feelings on rounding out her time as a long time Cheerleader for UHS. “Senior night was really bittersweet for me. It’s really weird knowing that all of these experiences are my last,” she said.
